Welcoming new families into our community
Welcome Rams: finding community when you’re new
Being new to a school comes with excitement, questions, and the hope of finding connection. At the American International School of Guangzhou, welcoming new families is part of who we are. As an inclusive international community, we invite new families to connect with those who have been here longer, and just as importantly, with other families who are new too.
We understand how important reassurance is. Feeling part of a family, or a ramily 😉, matters, especially when everything else feels unfamiliar.
That’s why we bring our community together through Welcome Rams events, creating space for conversations, shared experiences, and the first connections that often become lasting ones. These moments sit at the core of our culture, reflecting our belief in the impact of community and the role it plays in helping families feel at home.
In this short video, a new AISG family shares what it was like to join the community and what helped them feel welcomed along the way. Thank you to our community for being so welcoming, it goes to show how the community has an impact!
If you remember what it felt like to be new, share this with someone.
