The new school year is approaching, and we can definitely feel the excitement! Our Science Park campus welcomed all our faculty and staff back yesterday to kick off preparations for the start of school next week.

We recognize the importance of community and strive to be a place where educators support and uplift one another, creating a nurturing environment for each other and our students. This was evident seeing everyone’s faces light up as they greeted each other after the summer break and met their new team members.

This strong sense of belonging fosters collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence, making each member feel valued and engaged. This carries over to our students as well, with students who feel like they belong in their school community are more likely to engage in class, participate in extracurricular activities, and form positive relationships with their peers and teachers.

Additionally, At AISG, our commitment to student safeguarding remains a top priority. We believe that every student deserves a safe and supportive learning environment. Our faculty and staff take mandatory courses over the summer and are trained in best practices for safeguarding, ensuring that they are equipped to recognize and respond to any concerns.

To aid our educators foster a sense of belonging and keeping child safety at the forefront, their first day back included workshops on topics including student safeguarding, neurodiversity, language diversity, genders and sexualities, intersectionality and bias, and racial and culture identities. Each of these were designed to deepen their understanding and strengthen their practices. Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to cultivating inclusive, equitable, and safe learning environments for all students.

Our Deputy Director Mr. Jamie Robb said, “I am deeply grateful to collaborate with passionate teacher-leaders who embody AISG’s Social Vision: a community where every voice is valued and each person can be who they truly are. As we begin the academic year, I look forward to continued growth, meaningful learning, and impactful change as we build a school culture that celebrates diversity and champions belonging.”

Less than a week until the school year starts! We can’t wait to have our students back on campus and have another great school year.
