Thwacked!: EASA Musical Drama

Our EASA (Elementary Afterschool Activity) Musical Drama students put on their production of "Thwacked!" last week. 40 of our Grade 4 and 5 students have been busy rehearsing after school for this production and the results definitely reflected their hard work.

"Thwacked!", a musical play with story and songs written by Dave and Jean Perry, tells the story of Prince Ferris, who has been turned into a frog because of his bad behavior. Our music teacher Ms. Kim Gilbertson added her own spin on things with adapted lyrics to customize it to the AISG experience.

Onstage, students flexed their acting, singing, and dancing skills! The crew was also made up of students and they helped to run the lighting and helped backstage to make the production run smoothly.

Our productions are a great example of our compassionate community, with various faculty, staff, and caregivers helping to create the props, costumes, backdrops, supervising rehearsals, and more.

Two performances were held for caregivers and the audience was full of cheers and applause! All of our students' hard work paid off and it’s always wonderful to see our students explore their passions and be creative. Great job!

AISG's Visual and Performing Arts program is designed to provide our students with experiences to develop curiosity, interest, and enjoyment of their own creativity and an appreciation for others' work. Click here to learn more about the Arts at AISG.
