Speaker Series: Dr. Grace Cheng Dodge

As part of this year’s AISG Speaker Series, we were honored to welcome Dr. Grace Cheng Dodge, who brought invaluable insights into the university admissions process for our Upper Secondary caregivers and Grade 12 students. With extensive experience as both a school administrator and a university admissions officer, including roles at renowned institutions such as Harvard University and Wellesley College, Dr. Dodge shared her expertise in helping students navigate the complex journey toward higher education.

During her dedicated session with Grade 12 students, Dr. Dodge focused on the value of self-reflection and personal storytelling in the application process. She encouraged students to identify what makes them unique, connecting their strengths, interests, and goals with opportunities that align with their values. This approach fosters authenticity and ensures that students present a genuine picture of themselves.

In her session with caregivers, Dr. Dodge highlighted the importance of a holistic education in shaping students who are academically strong while also developing personal qualities such as passion, initiative, and resilience. Her message reflected AISG’s belief that education must go beyond academics to nurture curiosity, character, and global citizenship.

Central to her advice was alignment with AISG’s best-fit philosophy, which prioritizes finding the right academic and social environment for each student. By matching personal aspirations with suitable programs, courses, and extracurricular opportunities, students can choose pathways that feel both challenging and inspiring, leading to long-term success and impact beyond graduation.

Dr. Dodge’s expertise and compassionate guidance left a lasting impression on our community. Caregivers left feeling empowered to support their children’s journey, while students gained practical tools and renewed confidence for the application process. Her visit perfectly reflected AISG’s commitment to holistic education, personal growth, and helping every student find their own best-fit future.
