Passion, Precision, and Performance at Honor Orchestra Festival
Recently, the AISG Science Park Campus resonated with the rich sound of strings as we proudly hosted the AISG Honor Orchestra Festival — welcoming talented musicians from CISS, ISB, SASPX, and SASPD. Representing AISG, our Lower Secondary String Orchestra students stepped into the spotlight to join forces with peers from leading international schools, creating an unforgettable, world-class musical experience.
Over two dynamic days, students immersed themselves in intensive rehearsals, both as sections and as a full orchestra, fine-tuning technique, precision, and ensemble harmony. This year’s festival was under the baton of distinguished guest conductor Dr. Yiwen Shen, an acclaimed composer, conductor, and pianist who teaches at the Tianjin Juilliard School, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) School of Music. His guidance inspired students to push beyond their limits and explore new depths of musical expression.
Saturday night’s performance was a celebration of our students' hard work, attended by students, caregivers, and faculty. Performers played the seven pieces that they had been honing, which included “Pizzicato Polka”, “Saraband from Holberg Suite”, “Romanian Folk Dances”, and “Air from Orchestral Suite No. 3”.
A heartfelt round of applause to all our Honor Orchestra performers — your passion and talent lit up the stage! This festival was more than a performance; it was a celebration of connection, growth, and excellence. Students left inspired, with new friendships, refined skills, and priceless memories to carry forward in their musical journeys.
