How Zoe Showed Up for Her Community
At the American International School of Guangzhou, students are encouraged to notice the world around them and respond in ways that feel meaningful.
For our Senior, Zoe, that began through her involvement with the Global Issues Network. What started as a commitment gradually became something deeper, built through connection, empathy, and time spent with others.
Through organizing school visits and participating in GIN trips, Zoe and her peers connected directly with underserved communities. These experiences shaped how they understood service: not as a single action, but as relationships built through listening, presence, and care.

Stories like Zoe’s reflect how students grow within a community that values compassion and connection. When young people are given space to engage with others meaningfully, they learn how care, responsibility, and action are closely linked.
