How One Student's Action Can Impact a Community
Now a senior at the American International School of Guangzhou, Willard stands at the heart of a movement he helped spark. Raised in Vancouver, he first stepped onto the AISG campus as an eighth grader, drawn by a school that values not only academic excellence but also compassion, kindness, respect, and understanding. Over the years, Willard has become a student whose quiet determination and genuine empathy inspire action; someone driven to lift others and strengthen the community around him.
As the coordinator of Connect for Cancer, Willard leads awareness campaigns, partners with hospitals, and inspires his peers to take action. Motivated by personal loss and a drive to make a difference, he launched a multi-faceted initiative focused on cancer prevention, patient support, and education. His team has collaborated with hospitals, hosted fundraising events, and built platforms for advocacy.
The AISG Impact
These projects exemplify what The AISG Impact stands for: transformational learning that leads to visible, lasting change. Students are mentored by expert faculty, supported by a mission-driven school culture, and inspired to pursue ideas that matter. In doing so, they develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose that stays with them long after graduation. This is what it means to be future-ready for life.
