Fall 2025 ASAG Bi-Annual General Meeting
Last week, we held our annual Fall 2025 ASAG Bi-Annual General Meeting, with over 300 caregivers attending the event held at the Ritz-Carlton. These meetings play a vital role in our non-profit advantage where caregivers have a voice and take part in shaping the future of our school.
AISG is a non-profit school and is governed by our nine-member board, who generously volunteer their time to ensure we provide a world-class education for our students. The board reports to its members of ASAG (American School Association of Guangzhou) who are composed of caregivers with students currently enrolled at AISG.
One of the greatest benefits of our non-profit model is that one hundred percent of surpluses are reinvested in the school. This allows us to strengthen learning experiences through investment in talented faculty, ongoing professional development, upgraded campuses, and resources to meet future challenges.
Twice each year, the Board of Governors delivers valuable insights and transparent updates exclusively to ASAG members. This fall’s agenda featured important highlights including last year’s audit results, amendments to ASAG bylaws, our annual school goals, updates on the Ersha Master Facilities Plan, the AISG Transformative Learning Framework, and the WASC Self-Study process. Every detail shared is aimed at ensuring our families understand how their engagement and the school’s resources join to create exceptional outcomes for students.
In addition, the most anticipated item on the agenda for each ASAG is our live showcase of student learning. With this year’s theme of Impact and our upcoming ImpactGZ event, Secondary students shared inspiring service learning stories that demonstrated how AISG students create meaningful change within the community.
Ranked the #1 international school in South China, AISG’s ASAG General Meetings exemplify both our commitment to excellence and our priority to be transparent in all aspects of our operations, ensuring that our school’s goals, finances, and strategic decisions are openly shared with our members – the great benefit of being a non-profit! Together, we continue to make an impact in learning, an impact in community, and an impact that extends far beyond graduation.
