Creativity Unleashed: APAC Performing Arts Festivals

This month, AISG student performers shone bright at the APAC Performing Arts Festivals, joining talented peers from ISB, SASPD, SASPX (Choir and Orchestra), CA, Brent (Dance), and SFS for an unforgettable celebration of creativity and collaboration!

APAC Performing Arts Festivals serve as a cornerstone of AISG’s Visual Performing Arts Program. As a member of APAC (Asia Pacific Athletics and Activities Conference), AISG provides opportunities to participate in national and international events. Each festival includes one or more experts in their fields that students work with during the festival, granting them unique opportunities to work with conductors and dance masters who work around the world and have years of experience in their fields.

Orchestra

We proudly hosted the Orchestra Festival this year, where our students kicked off the event by performing pieces with their own school. Then, they collaborated with musicians from other schools to create a stunning grand finale performance! With the guidance of new conductors, students had the opportunity to rehearse in sections with their peers, fostering teamwork and enhancing their musical skills.

Dance

Our talented dancers made their way to Brent Manila for the Dance Festival, diving into a variety of styles taught by professional dancers. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zones and explore new movements. Grouping with dancers from other schools allowed for fun socializing and forging new friendships. To top it off, our dancers showcased a piece they had been perfecting over the past few months, demonstrating their hard work and creativity on stage!

Choir

Hosted by ISB, the Choir Festival brought together our singers for two days of intensive rehearsals leading up to a breathtaking performance featuring a massive chorus of students. They had the chance to work with experienced choir directors from different schools, enriching their understanding of diverse conducting styles and enhancing their collaborative skills.

The APAC Performing Arts Festivals are a significant event for our students, leaving them with memories that last a lifetime. This event sets our international school in Guangzhou apart from others, as it offers a remarkable platform for our students to refine their artistic skills, connect with other international school communities, and proudly display their extraordinary talents.

AISG's Visual and Performing Arts program is designed to provide our students with experiences to develop curiosity, interest, and enjoyment of their own creativity and an appreciation for others’ work. Click here to learn more about the Arts at AISG.
