AISG’s Young Journalists Published in That’s
At AISG, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom—it thrives in real-world experiences that shape perspectives, ignite passions, and prepare students for the future. The Junior Reporter Program is a perfect example.

Since November 2025, a group of aspiring young journalists has been hard at work. They have been learning how to ask the right questions, find the heart of a story, and capture the unique spirit of AISG.

Through the Junior Reporter Program, made possible by the generous support of the AISG Annual Fund, 60 of our Grade 4 to 12 students are stepping into the shoes of real journalists. To date, we have successfully conducted 4 workshops, each building on the last to equip students with the tools they need to tell compelling stories.

In partnership with That's Guangzhou and Urban Family, leading English-language publications in China, this unique initiative provides an immersive journalism experience unlike any other.

The Junior Reporter Program empowers our students to serve as ambassadors for AISG, amplifying the stories of our service initiatives and sharing their unique perspectives with the wider Guangzhou community.

A Look at Our Young Journalists in Action
Our first three workshops centered on ImpactGZ, an international service summit hosted at AISG's Science Park Campus. Led by expert editors from That’s, students learned story structure and reporting techniques, bringing service-learning stories to life.
We are proud to share that all articles were published on That's Guangzhou website, with select pieces featured in their February print issue.
We invite you to click 'Read More' and view our students' articles.
In January, our Junior Reporters took their skills further at the Guo Cai Art Gallery, covering the 2026 AISG Hong Bao Art Exhibition. During this workshop, students learned how to conduct surveys and interviews, compared Lunar New Year traditions, and weaved their findings into engaging narratives.
More Stories to Tell, More Opportunities Ahead
This is only the beginning. The Junior Reporter Program continues to grow, offering even more workshops that empower students to explore journalism and storytelling. Whether uncovering untold stories or documenting campus life, our young reporters are shaping the narrative of AISG—and we can’t wait to see what they do next.
All aspiring writers, photographers, and storytellers in Grades 4-12, stay tuned. The next workshop is coming soon!
The Junior Reporter Program is just one of the many ways AISG connects classroom learning to real-world impact. We extend our deepest gratitude to the AISG Annual Fund donors, our partners at That's and Urban Family, and the dedicated students sharing their world with us, one story at a time.
