AISG RAMSMUN V: Debate, Dialogue, Diplomacy
Last week, the AISG Model United Nations club hosted its fifth annual conference, RAMSMUN V, at the Science Park Campus. Welcoming over 120 participants from across the Guangdong region, RAMSMUN brought together delegates from UISG, CISGZ, SWIS, and ZIS for a weekend of diplomacy, debate, and cooperation.
This year’s theme, ‘Power: The Difference Between Right and Wrong’, encouraged delegates to examine how power shapes global decisions. While power can be used to protect human rights, promote cooperation, and create opportunities for progress, it can also silence dissent, deepen inequality, or maintain systems that exclude others. The theme challenged delegates to reflect on the responsibility that comes with power and highlighted the importance of cooperation in establishing a shared understanding of what is right.
The conference featured lively discussions and debate across four committees: Human Rights Council, Disarmament and International Security Council, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and United Nations Development Program.

Among the standout achievements, Grade 10 student Noel C. and Grade 7 student Whale L. were awarded Best Delegate, while Grade 10 student Eduardo. D received Honorable Mention for their outstanding contributions.
Beyond awards, the conference offered all participants an unforgettable learning experience and the opportunity to form new friendships. Model United Nations provides a unique space for students to engage with one another regardless of the nations they represent, fostering dialogue, understanding, and global awareness.
