AISG Explorers Summer Camps: Rainforests and Community
AISG Explorers is one of AISG’s Signature Programs, made possible through the support of the Annual Fund, and offers year-round opportunities for students and families to learn through adventure, connection, and real-world experiences.

Through international expeditions and local camps, AISG Explorers Program gives students opportunities to explore new places, engage with communities, and pursue hands-on learning beyond the classroom.

This past summer, students traveled to Singapore and Borneo to explore environmental conservation, sustainability, and community, while local camps on campus invited students to discover new interests and develop skills through creative, collaborative experiences.
Read on to discover more about these experiences and how AISG Explorers inspires students to make a positive impact in their communities and the wider world.

Borneo
Several AISG families embarked on an unforgettable Explorers expedition through Borneo. In the rainforests of Borneo, students experienced river safaris alongside orangutans, crocodiles, monkeys, and colorful bird species while exploring cave systems and learning about the region’s unique geology. A powerful highlight came on a protected island off the coast of Sabah, where families witnessed a mother sea turtle lay 94 eggs. AISG proudly sponsored and adopted the nest after conservation staff relocated the eggs to a protected hatchery, giving students firsthand insight into wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting endangered species.

Singapore
In Singapore, students explored how innovation and sustainability can shape stronger communities. Visits to Gardens by the Bay, the National Gallery, a rooftop vertical farm, and the Singapore Barrage showed how design, engineering, and urban farming can improve everyday life while protecting the environment. Another memorable highlight was an exclusive evening at HaiDiLao, where students toured the kitchens, learned about customer service and entrepreneurship, watched a traditional mask-changing performance, and heard inspiring stories from AISG alumni and VIPKid founder Cindy Mi about resilience, leadership, and pursuing ambitious goals.

Local Camp
AISG Explorers also made an impact closer to home through our successful local summer programs. The Explorers Summer Camp for Grades 1–5 and Robotics Camp for Grades 6–8 gave students opportunities to learn through hands-on activities, games, adventures, and robotics challenges while building friendships and lasting memories.

ONLY AT AISG
Whether it be through international travel, or through deeper exploration of cultures and adventure in camps at home, the AISG Explorers program helps our students to look outward as they grow into empathetic world citizens who make an impact. Through our travel and camp experiences, we continue our mission to create a compassionate and globally connected community.
