The AISG Explorers Program offers our students the chance to embark on transformative journeys designed to foster their personal growth. This summer, we hosted two camps: a local camp right here at our Science Park campus and the other one in Japan!

Our local camp this year was designed for students in Grades 1 to 5 and was led by our very own AISG faculty members! Over two weeks, our students explored fascinating themes such as the mysteries of the ocean, the wonders of Ancient Egypt, and life during medieval times—bringing history, science, and culture to life through hands-on activities and interactive lessons. 

In addition to the rich educational experiences, the camp was filled with laughter, games, and unforgettable moments. Through building projects, participating in scavenger hunts, or developing their social-emotional skills through play, our students enjoyed our state-of-the-art facilities and bonded through the fun of learning!

Our Japan trip invited students and caregivers on a 10-day journey to explore the local culture and engage in service learning. Traveling through multiple cities such as Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo, our Rams got to experience Japanese culture and engage with the local community through activities such as traditional dance with local schoolchildren, studying manga drawing, and helping a local farm. These experiences had a profound impact on their understanding of diversity and the importance of global citizenship.

Of course, there was also plenty of fun along the way for our families to bond! From kendo classes and sushi-making to watching and even joining real sumo wrestlers in action, our students embraced every moment of adventure. These authentic and immersive moments fostered empathy and curiosity and emphasized how rewarding experiential learning is.

The AISG Explorers Program is a part of our AISG Signature Programs, which focuses on offering transformative and life-changing experiences outside of the classroom for our community. This also includes our Social Practice Program, Schoolwide Service Program, Speaker Series, and Chinese Cultural Heritage Program.

Whether it be through international travel, or through deeper exploration of cultures and adventure in camps at home, the AISG Explorers program helps our students to look outward as they grow into empathetic world citizens who make an impact. Through our travel and camp experiences, we continue our mission to create a compassionate and globally connected community.
