AISG 40th Anniversary Gala
On Saturday, the final celebration of our 40th anniversary took place, our 40th anniversary gala and what a finale it was! The Garden Hotel, where AISG was actually located from 1985-1994, was the perfect partner for us to honor our legacy and celebrate our many accomplishments over the years!

It was an incredible night with 500 members from the AISG and Guangzhou communities, which included parents, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and consulate, chamber, and government representatives. Everyone was dressed to the nines to celebrate the occasion!

The theme of the evening was A Touch of Jade with a motif of a butterfly to signify its transformation in our slogan, Transforming lives. But why Jade? Jade was chosen to symbolize our 40-year journey and as a radiant gem, possesses several quality traits that our community aspires to, such as an educated mind, a cultured heart, and is also associated with wisdom and virtue. Another similar characteristic is its need for polishing, just like our school, that requires time and experience to shine brightly.

With everyone encouraged to bring their own Touch of Jade, whether as part of their dress or an accessory, to show solidarity in our celebration, the ball room was beautifully decorated with beautiful green shades and elegant butterfly accents.

With the stage set, the evening's program kept everyone not only entertained, but also impressed. All of the night's performances came from our own AISG student talent pool, including the Elementary Choir, a Cello Ensemble, the Secondary School Band - one set by the brass group and another set by the woodwind group, the APAC Strings Ensemble, the APAC Dance team, the Barefoot Band, and a Chinese culture performance. In addition, we recognized two outstanding members of our community: the winner of the Alumni Award, Thomas Huang, and our partnership recognition with the Shining Star Organization.

Another memorable takeaway were the two special videos that were created for our gala, one that took us through our 40-year history and another that collected happy birthday messages from alumni, and former AISG families and teachers who are now all around the world. The excited applause and cheers from everyone showed us how proud everyone is to be a Ram, because Once a Ram, always a Ram!

This week is #AISGGalaWeek, meaning that we will be sharing the highlights of our gala all week long, so stay tuned!
And lastly, a big thank you to all the sponsors who helped make this night happen! Especially all the prizes from the lucky draw, always a crowd favorite!

Established in 1981, AISG is the longest established non-profit international school in southern China.
