UPstander Awareness Month
September at AISG is UPstander Awareness Month when we raise awareness about bullying, help our students learn how to be an UPstander, and talk about AISG's No Bully program. During the month, students, faculty, staff, and caregivers participate in many activities and learn more about how to support our students and each other to stand up to bullying.

The color of the month: green! Our campuses have been displaying green posters and graphics everywhere with messages and reminders about small actions students can take to help stand up to bullying.

On Friday, September 22, we celebrated UPstander A 'wearness' Day and our campuses were full of people wearing green to celebrate the month and show their pledge to be UPstanders.

September was full of activities and awareness for the cause. Our counselors hosted sessions for caregivers to attend to learn more about how they can encourage their children to be UPstanders, how to respond to bullying, and how to help adolescents advocate for themselves and others.

Our students also attended sessions on AISG's No Bully program and continued to learn social-emotional skills that can help in situations, such as empathy, assertiveness, friendship skills, and upstander behaviors.

UPstander Awareness and AISG's No Bully program are both important to AISG's Social Vision, which states that AISG is a community where every voice is valued, and each person can be who they truly are. We believe that through training and education for our faculty, staff, students, and caregivers, our community is equipped to create a bully-free environment.

AISG is committed to preventing and responding to bullying and harassment through the implementation of the No Bully System. This system teaches fundamental aspects such as interrupting bullying, supporting inclusivity, creating a safe campus, and taking appropriate steps to aid students.

With over 600 schools worldwide investing in the No Bully standard, AISG is proud to be part of this community. Our faculty members are trained as Solution Coaches and form a Solution Team to help end bullying situations.
At AISG, we prioritize child safety and aim to equip our students with skills they can apply in the future. We continue to educate our community to support each other, stay connected, and become UPstanders instead of bystanders.

AISG is committed to being a safe and bully-free school and will make every possible effort to provide a learning environment where students are safe, supported, and free from harm. Click here to learn more about the AISG No Bully System.
